EXTENDED SYNOPSIS:
The Nord General, Hjalmar (Mark Lee), is out hunting deer in the forest, unaware that he too is being hunted. A rogue tiger, once trapped and injured by hunters, was rendered incapable of hunting animals long ago. It now stalks humans, as they are slower and easier to catch. The tiger tries to attack Hjalmar, but The BeastMaster, Dar (Daniel Goddard) , appears and saves him in return for his promise never again to hunt the animals of the forest. Almost immediately after making his promise, however, Hjalmar slays a deer. Already incensed over Dar’s rejection of her romantic advances, Iara (Sam Healy) flies into a rage and accuses Dar of valuing humans more than her and the animals. With a wave of her hand, she takes away his powers as the BeastMaster, unwittingly setting nature off balance. The Ancient One (Grahame Bond) knows if the spell is not reversed, the world will spiral out of control and they will all lose their powers.
Meanwhile, Voden (David Paterson) learns the location of the Graveyard of the
Elephants, and dreams of the gains he could make with the possession of their ivory tusks. Ignoring the dire warnings about disturbing the sacred site, he sends Hjalmar to bring back the tusks. The Ancient One decides it’s time to intervene. He tells Dar that he can regain his powers if he fulfills three tasks that prove his dedication, his willingness to sacrifice and his fulfillment of promises made to those he was chosen to protect. Dar knows instinctively that his duty also includes stopping the Nords from desecrating the elephants’ graveyard.

On his journey, Dar faces his first two tests. He saves a water buffalo from the sucking mud of a dried up water hole. Then, he sacrifices himself to the starving rogue tiger as Tao (Jackson Raine), Iara, and the Sorceress (Dylan Bierk) watch in horror. The Ancient One appears, and the tiger fearfully retreats. The Ancient One uses his diminishing power to heal Dar’s mauled body. Now, the last test Dar must pass is to fulfill a promise made. A set of tracks indicates that the rogue tiger is again on Dar’s scent. Dar recalls his promise to find food for the tiger, the promise he must now keep to fulfill his final task.
Meanwhile, the Nords reach the Graveyard of the Elephants. Hjalmar and his men begin the back-breaking work of collecting their cache, while Dar keeps the tiger on his trail and guides him right to the graveyard. With this act, he not only sends the Nords fleeing from the site, but he satisfies his promise to the tiger by leading it to a new hunting ground where it can feast on the elephants who have come to die. Having successfully achieved his three tasks, Dar’s powers are reinstated and the rogue tiger will live to help keep the balance in a world that has now been restored.
