Curupira vows to save her world from the black-hearted demon, but Iara has already set her plan in motion. Iara has put a curse on Mohan, the noble white tiger that belongs to Curupira, promising to give him human life. In return, Mohan must kill for her. Iara fills the Mydlands forest with a dense mist that gives her power, and plans to lure her victims there.

Meanwhile, in a chasm of the Mydlands forest, Dar and Tao (Jackson Raine) sense strangeness in the mist around them. Their animals are also disturbed. Kodo and Podo scamper from bush to leaf to log trying to stay dry, while Ruh stares fearfully into the fog.

Curupira tracks Dar down and gives him a double warning - death waits in the mist and he will experience great loneliness. Sure enough, one by one, Dar begins to lose his companions. Mohan first stalks Kodo and Podo, chasing the two ferrets over the edge of a cliff into a chasm. He then goes after Ruh, who also disappears into the mist. Despite Curupira's warnings, Dar insists on searching for the animals. Tao is apprehensive, believing he will be the next victim.
