EXTENDED SYNOPSIS:
Dar (Daniel Goddard) has an unsettling dream that predicts grim events that lie ahead. He sees a beautiful enchantress named Layla (Sara Gleeson), and the heads of a majestic tiger and Tao, both mounted on trophy boards. With a start, Dar awakens only to find Tao (Jackson Raine) suffering from severe back pain and planning to venture into the forest to find the purple herbs that can help him. Later in the forest, Tao comes across the beautiful Layla, the woman in Dar's dream, who seduces him with promises of life's pleasures.

Arjuna, a young male lion, is stalked by the warrior hunter, Kalex (Aaron Cash), who has taken the cub's mother captive. A fellow villager, Reon (Ryan Johnson), begs Kalex to let the cub go. Kalex agrees, because he knows the lion can be killed the following year, when he's grown. Now free, Arjuna seeks out the BeastMaster to help save his mother. Reon goes in search of protection from Arkon (Nicholas Eadie), the evil despot who has gained control of his village.

Not only have Arkon's warriors abducted Arjuna's mother, but they have also captured Dar's ally, the fierce and regal tiger, Ruh. Reon tells Dar of Arkon's plans to sacrifice the animals held in captivity. That very afternoon, at the village ceremonial grounds, a battle is to take place between the local warriors. The best of them will join Arkon's guards, and the warrior who wins the competition will sacrifice the captive animals to Arkon's greater glory. Dar and Reon agree to join forces to save the animals and break the spell of Arkon.

Meanwhile, as Tao is about to fall under Layla's spell, he realizes that he is being seduced by a devil in disguise. He uses laughter as a weapon to break her hold and Layla is suddenly powerless over him. Just in time, Tao escapes and goes in search of Dar, who desperately needs his help. Tao tracks down his friend at the festival grounds where Dar has entered the battle disguised as a warrior. He must win or risk losing Ruh and Arjuna's mother. Tao, who was able to release himself from the spell of Layla, determines that Dar's only chance to break the spell of Arkon is to use laughter. In the thick of battle, as things could not look more bleak for Dar, Tao urges him to begin to laugh. Dar has no choice but to trust his friend. Dar's laughter proves infectious, and soon his opponents are also laughing, then all of the villagers join in. In the end, Arkon loses his power over his subjects and retreats into hiding with none other than the beautiful, but powerless Layla.
