EXTENDED SYNOPSIS:
Deep in the rainforest, Dar (Daniel Goddard) goes in search of his friend Tao (Jackson Raine) who has been captured by mysterious ape-like creatures. During his quest, Dar encounters a beautiful woman named Arina (Marjean Holden) who is also searching for a missing friend. Dar believes the Terron warriors have Tao, but Arina warns him that there are others in the forest more dangerous than the Terrons.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the rainforest, King Zad (Steven Grives) and a group of Terron warriors find a number of dead Terrons. Among the dead is a Manlink -- half-ape, half-human -- a species that inhabited these parts long before the Terrons arrived. King Zad believes it is this Manlink that killed his people and vows revenge on the others of his species.
It seems that a great ice flow in the Uplands has forced the Manlinks to evacuate their homes in search of a new land. For the same reason, Arina and her friend Tor (Don Atkinson) have come to the forest as scouts for their people. Now two new groups must compete with the Terrons for land and survival.

Dar discovers that Tao is being held captive by the Manlinks on a platform high in the trees, along with Tor. Although the Manlinks do not trust the humans who killed off many generations of their species in ancient times, Tao is able to establish a fragile trust with a female Manlink named Doe (Melody Sorenson).
Dar and Arina set out to save their friends, while King Zad seeks revenge for his dead warriors. Dar and Arina climb up into the canopy. Down below, King Zad sets a fire to smoke out the Manlinks. A violent battle ensues during which Dar and Arina join forces to drive off the Terrons.
Arina and Tor disappear back into the forest, while a mutual respect has been forged between Dar, Tao and the Manlinks. In the end, we learn (and Dar suspects) that it was Arina who killed the Terrons with her new (metal) weapon and made it appear that the Manlinks had done it. By pitting Terrons against Manlinks, she hoped to leave the way open for her people to enter and take over the region.
