EXTENDED SYNOPSIS:
It is the dawn of a day when, according to legend, spirits walk the Earth and curses have great power. The tall and regal Orpheo (Chris Kirby) and his companion, a black panther, emerge through a Tunnel of Trees on a mission that must be achieved by the time the sun sinks in the sky.

The panther turns out to be a rogue animal that kills only for pleasure. When it destroys an anaconda, a creature belonging to Iara (Sam Healy), the enraged serpent demon orders Dar (Daniel Goddard) to find the animal and bring it to her. When Dar protests, Iara warns that he will never see Tao (Jackson Raine) again unless he cooperates. She then catapults Tao into a pond, trapping him below the surface by freezing it solid. With no choice but to do Iara's bidding, Dar takes off in search of the panther and is soon joined by the warrior, Arina (Marjean Holden), who insists on accompanying him.

Meanwhile, Orpheo, Arina's first and only true love, makes his way to Arina's camp where he eagerly anticipates her return. Believing that Orpheo was killed in a battle with the Terrons, Arina is stunned and overjoyed to find him waiting for her. It seems that Orpheo, also convinced he had lost Arina in that battle, had chosen to die by his own hand rather than live without her. Orpheo urges Arina to come with him, promising her a new home where they can be together forever.

Meanwhile, Tao, whom Iara has reluctantly released from his underwater prison, catches up with Dar and deduces that the panther is not what it seems, but is actually a servant of an evil spirit who has returned from the World Beneath the World on a mission. Realizing that Arina is in terrible danger, the two head for her camp. When Dar demands Arina's release and Orpheo refuses, a terrible fight ensues. Arina is shocked by Orpheo's rage and demon-like strength and promises to go with him if he spares Dar's life. He agrees, but not before knocking Dar unconscious. When Arina ultimately realizes that Orpheo is a creature of the dead and learns that she must die of her own free will in order to be with him, she withdraws in horror.

Dar and Tao are close enough to hear Arina's cries as she makes a final plea to Orpheo to let her live. Dar faces Orpheo in a spectacular showdown and finally manages to deliver a smashing blow to his adversary. As Orpheo's will to fight starts to drain away, Arina begs him not make her spend eternity remembering him like this. Orpheo breaks down and admits he loves her too much to hurt her this way. Desolate, he leaves her behind and disappears into the fiery mist of the Tunnel of Trees.
